adidas and the RBFA celebrate the 40th anniversary of Belgium’s iconic 1986 FIFA World Cup™ home jersey

May 26, 2026 – adidas and the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) celebrate a defining moment in Belgian Football history with the return of the Belgium Home 1986 jersey, in what is a one-to-one recreation of the iconic long sleeve worn at the 1986 FIFA World Cup™ in Mexico. The bring-back celebrates Belgium’s football legacy through design, bringing an iconic adidas Originals look back into the present for fans of football nostalgia. 

Designed as a genuine reproduction of the original, the Belgium Home 1986 jersey captures the boldness of mid-80s football design. The unmistakable red base is paired with adidas’ classic Trefoil logo, Belgian tricolor 3-stripes (black/yellow/red) running along the sleeves, and a subtle woven geometric jacquard fabric that adds texture to the jersey. Finished with a timeless V-neck collar, the jersey stays true to the original look and feel.
